Need to improve your reading & writing skills to return to college or to complete your high school diploma?  Course content includes comprehension, vocabulary, and implementing good reading practices. 

Based on class size and needs class time may be adapted or changed. For academic courses, per state funding requirements, we must do an assessment of each student using the CASAS at enrollment and again prior to course completion, with some exceptions. This course is appropriate for those that need to brush up on skills before heading back to college and that need to improve their Accuplacer scores to avoid additional required classes.

Need to improve your math skills to return to college or to complete your high school diploma.  Course content includes basic math, arithmetic, algebra, and qualitative reasoning instruction and is individualized to the students attending.  We cover test taking strategies and study skills.

This course is designed to explore the tools and strategies needed to succeed in college and career.  Participants will have exposure to a range of success strategies that include communication, critical thinking, time management and problem solving skills.  Students will become acquainted with the University of Maine and Community Colleges as they clarify personal values, goals and expectations.  This is a University of Maine – Augusta three credit course.

OdysseyWare is a computer managed learning system offering individualized, self-paced modules in math reading, writing, science, HiSET preparation, and other areas.  It may be a good supplement to adult education classes if you are getting ready for college or working on diploma completion.  Free registration but you must call 377-2265 to arrange enrollment.
