Funeral Choices

We’ll start by talking about the legal documents everyone should have in place, then cover planning ahead, writing things down, and having a conversation with the family about those plans.  That will lead to a Q & A guided by your questions. We can talk about funeral options, home funerals, green cemeteries, alkaline hydrolysis, family burying grounds, scattering ashes, and paperwork-whatever you want to know. We’ll share stories. I’ll bet that you’ll even laugh sometimes!  

Get Golf Ready Beginner-Tuesdays

Learn the fun and relaxing sport of golf.  This six week clinic will cover short game, long game, golf course etiquette and rules, with the goal of making you comfortable on the course.  Students should have their own clubs.

Hunter Safety

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Hunter Education Course is more than a “gun safety” class. This basic mandatory course consists of classroom and home instruction/study. Each course is taught by a trained certified volunteer instructor according to statewide standards. Students are provided with a course handbook, outdoor survival information, and additional handouts.  Home study is required. You must be on time and attend both classes.

Two classes: Tuesday, May 9, 6-9pm AND Saturday, May 20, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Both at Winthrop Middle School Cafeteria

 Craig Gerry is the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Safety Coordinator for Kennebec County-Hunter Safety, Ourdoor Safety Programs.

He has taught as a volunteer for 10 years plus for IFW before becoming a Regional Safety Coordinator. Craig holds a Registered Maine Guide License for hunting, fishing, and recreational.

Make Your Own Hula Hoop

Come explore hula hooping as a fun new activity! Learn in just

2 classes!  No longer just a children’s summer toy, the hula hoop is gaining popularity as a versatile, lively and colorful tool for fitness, creative expression, and moving meditation.

This two evening session will allow participants to learn the basics of hooping, and to craft their own custom hoop to take home. In the first class, I will bring a selection of hoops in different sizes and weights to teach basic hooping skills, to allow participants find the hoop that works best for them. In the second class, each participant will create and design their own hoop and we will practice together.

No experience necessary!
