The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Hunter Education Course is more than a “gun safety” class. This basic mandatory course consists of classroom and home instruction/study. Each course is taught by a trained certified volunteer instructor according to statewide standards. Students are provided with a course handbook, outdoor survival information, and additional handouts. Home study is required. You must be on time and attend both classes.
Two classes: Thursday, April 12, 6-9pm AND Saturday, April 28, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Both at Winthrop Middle School Cafeteria
Craig Gerry is the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Safety Coordinator for Kennebec County-Hunter Safety, Ourdoor Safety Programs.
He has taught as a volunteer for 10 years plus for IFW before becoming a Regional Safety Coordinator. Craig holds a Registered Maine Guide License for hunting, fishing, and recreational.

It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy (qi). Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind. Students perform at their own level.
Square Dance Lessons

If you can walk you can square dance. It’s time to erase the old image you might have of square dancing. Today’s dancing is done to great music from the best of modern music, including Country, Rock, and Pop. Each week the Caller will start out with a review of the previous lesson and then add new dance calls and patterns. You will learn three or four new calls each week and by the end of the 13th week you will have learned 51 basic calls. Square dancing is a fun and healthy exercise. You’ll meet new people, laugh and have fun dancing. Grab your partner and come join us!
Watercolor Fun with Doris Anne Holman

You will paint a new subject each night such as birch trees, flowers, fog, as well as practice washes, quick sketches and learn composition. From beginner to experienced, this class is for you! Bring watercolor pad, watercolor paints, pencils, small crayons, water container, sponges and paper towels.
Doris Anne Holman has been teaching watercolor for years, mostly running workshops around Maine.She previously ran workshops in Bermuda and Santa Fe. She was a former Art teacher at Monmouth Middle School as well as a Reading Specialist. When she is teaching watercolor she uses some experimental techniques to add texture and interest to her paintings. She has written, illustrated, and printed eleven children's books and one How to watercolor book. She enjoys teaching adult ed and looks forward to the Spring season.
Yoga for Abundant Bodies and Beginner Yogis

The goal of this class is to provide an achievable, safe vinyasa flow for students with larger bodies, to promote strength, flexibility and balance both physically and mentally.
