Home/Community Composting 101
with Mark King
Have you ever wanted to set up your own home compost operation, but were afraid it was too difficult to do? If so, then this class is for you. During this two-part program, students will be introduced to the world of backyard composting while learning how easy it really is to do! Topics covered will include: an introduction to compost biology, review of various compost systems, a discussion of compost feedstocks and their challenges, how to setup and manage your compost pile/bin, how to trouble-shoot compost problems and finally, what to do with the finished product. This class is designed to appeal to both novice and experienced composters alike. This class will have two virtual meetings and one outdoor in-person meeting.
