Yoga for Abundant Bodies and Beginner Yogis Session 2

Inclusive yoga – yoga for EVERY body. This class will introduce students to all aspects of yoga, providing information beyond the poses. The goal of this class is to provide an achievable, safe vinyasa flow for students with larger bodies in order to promote strength, flexibility and balance - both physically and mentally. Self-acceptance is promoted. Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing.

Intro to Disc Golf

Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing sports out there. Ever wonder what it is all about? Come join us for an 8 week introduction. This class will teach you the fundamentals of disc golf. We will work on putting, upshots and driving.

Each participant will need to purchase a starter pack of discs if they don’t already own these discs. These starter parks can be purchased at www.infinitediscs.com/products/starter-sets

Composting 101

Have you ever wanted to set up your own home compost operation, but were afraid it was too difficult to do? If so, then this class is for you. During this two-part program, students will be introduced to the world of backyard composting while learning how easy it really is to do! Topics covered will include: an introduction to compost biology, review of various compost systems, a discussion of compost feedstocks and their challenges, how to setup and manage your compost pile/bin, how to trouble-shoot compost problems and finally, what to do with the finished product. This class is designed to appeal to both novice and experienced composters alike

Hunter Safety: Skills and Exam Day

This is an Online Course format which requires that students complete the knowledge portion of the course online and attend a skills and exam day which is about 7 hours. Students complete quizzes and an exam as part of the online course and are provided with a completion voucher to attend the skills and exam day.  In the skills and exam session students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safely handle a firearm, participate in activities, bring in a survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%.   Students must bring the online course completion voucher or an electronic version of it to the first class. Fiddlehead Talk

Learn how to properly identify and sustainably harvest and cook Ostrich Fern fiddleheads in this program. Dave Fuller is an Agriculture and Non-Timber Forest Product Professional with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. His past research has included a study on the effects of harvesting fiddleheads from wild fern stands.

Safety in the Modern World

In this 3 week course, participants will learn some basic ways to handle everyday situations that have the potential to turn violent. It is not unrealistic to be in a situation where you have to control a scenario involving a family member or friend that has escalated out of hand.   This course looks to bridge that gap and address what happens in a situation when reasonable force is needed.  A potentially dangerous situation where injuring one of the parties is not necessary, but some level of physical component is likely to be utilized.  Conflict resolution skills will be taught in the form of de-escalation strategies, avoidance, restraining and controlling techniques. Adults 18 and over are welcome to attend. No prior martial arts experience necessary.
